Cylinders. (Cylindres (Canons).) |
The Society owns two large warehouses in La Paz (Bolivia) and in Santiago (Chile), Large quantities are always disposable in these warehouses and the customers of the neighbouring countries, desirous of being promptly supplied, may at any time apply to them. The Society has established in Antwerp, the Shipping Port, a forwarding office. The manager of this office gives special care to the shipment of the Glass, looks after the loading of the Cases and the stowing, and negotiates freights in the best interests of the customers.

The glass leaves the flattening furnace. (Sortiedu verre dúne étenderie.) |
As a good packing is absolutely necessary, the Society is always searching for and experimenting upon the best means to secure this result. In its warehouses, the packing is specially looked after; the cases are made strong and substantial and the Glass is packed according processes for which patents have been taken out by the Society. All who have received Glass from the Red Star Glass-Works can testify as to the strength of the packing proof of care bestowed — and the small amount of breakage found on unpacking. They can affirm moreover that they never received from any other source goods so well conditioned.

Carrying of glass from the flattening furnaces to the cutting workshops. (Transport du verre des étenderies aux ateliers de découpage.) |
Cutter. (Coupeur.) |
In order to convince themselves, those interested, who have not yet entered into business relations with the Society, are strongly advised to entrust it with a small trial order, provided that the weight of this be at least 1000 Kgs. This will be sufficient to prove the accuracy of the above statements.
